Having made a paper model of a scene I wanted to try starting with a haiku and recreating it in another medium. So I started with the following haiku:
Running a bath for the children
Last night fills my mind
And the bath runs too hot
And I decided to recreate this haiku visually by making a video. I recreated the scene of the original haiku exactly, and started getting my children ready for their bath with the video camera set up outside the frosted glass door to the bathroom. I did this so that the silhouettes of the children dancing and playing, and the sounds of their laughter and the running water, could be captured on video. I wanted to record this moment in time, as Demand says, as if time stood still, before the moment passed.
